BRAG RC Model Plane Club

2025 3rd Annual Blue Rock Float Fly Event

Blog 2025-10-05 (updated 2025-10-05 )

The forecast for Warragul was not looking good for rain but showed low winds. However it was a fantastic 3 days of flying with only a couple of very short stops. Any rain occurred overnight. If you didn't make it you missed out.

Thursday was the set up day and Guests started arriving on early to settle in.

This was the second second time we had offered prebooked camping spots and premium spots and it seemed to work well.

Scott put on a free BBQ on Thursday to thank the helpers.

RC palne on water

Friday 25 April 2025

Some of the flyers got up early to hear the dawn service and pay their respects.

Everyone woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs and the sounds of some early bird flyers.

Due to the low water levels this was the first time we have been able to run two flight lines at the same time and it worked a treat.

It was a busy day of flying with a steady steam of planes making their way onto the water and the strip

Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April 2025

On both days there was next to no wind. Slightly overcast that blocked the sun on the strip. Overall two jam packed days of flying.

Overall Stats for the weekend:

35 pilots

24 campers

40 plus float planes

2 chuck gliders given away

5 great prizes drawn in the raffle

and one awsome chainsaw for the door prize.

Door Prize

The door prize was certainly the talk of the weekend.

Jason was the lucky winner

A big thank you goes out to the Main Sponsors for supporting the raffle.

IGA Trafalgar Thank you to the team at IGA for assisting with some of the catering supplies.

The VMAA was kind enough to support the event with a financial contribution of $250. Our application under the Sports Grant was processed quickly As usual with any support, the contribution by the VMAA softened some of the conversations within the committee, especially in relation to anxiety around guessing the catering requirements, and general preparation and cleaning of the facilities and site in general. So again thank you to the VMAA
